Image Converter is a free app that lets you convert the images that you take with and save on your cell phone. It gives you complete access to photos in your gallery as well as those on your SD card.

While transferring files between your phone and computer is easy, uploading those files onto social networking sites and blogs is sometimes hard because many sites will only work with certain extension types. If you try to upload a file with the wrong extension, the site will reject your photo. This app gives you the chance to convert photos into the proper extensions for sharing.

Image Converter has five different steps that you must go through, but you can skip most of those steps and go right to the conversion process at the very beginning. The app asks to select the file you want to convert first. When you click the browse button, you can pick the right area or folder on your phone where you save those pictures. Though the app doesn't have a lot of editing tools, it does have some like a crop tool that you can use for cutting things out of a photo or cutting down the picture itself. No matter what type of memory card you have, the app can access images on that card.

The app gives you access to 16 different extension types that you can use for your images. Not only can you select just one that you want to use, but you can also select two or more types. The app will then save the image or images you selected into each format and place a copy of each file type on your phone. As soon as you click the convert button, the app will immediately convert all those files.

It can take some time to load and convert all your pictures, but the app usually runs pretty fast when you select just one picture at a time. The app will also run more quickly when you have more free space available on your phone. There are some issues with the app not properly loading images, but you can usually back out of the app or back up to the last spot and pick a photo again. Image Converter lacks some of the editing tools you might want but makes converting images into different formats easy.
